Teaching Assistant for Reading and Maths Interventions in Wakefield
Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Do you get a buzz from watching a struggling reader finally put a sentence together? Primary schools across Wakefield and the five towns want TAs who run interventions properly.
About the Role
Ten focused minutes a day with a confident adult can move a pupil on faster than you might expect. You will deliver the structured reading and maths programmes each school already uses, listen to individual readers and use practical resources to build number confidence. Back in class, you will help pupils apply what they have learned. Simple, accurate records keep the class teacher in the picture. Work is offered day to day and in short runs across Wakefield, Pontefract, Castleford and Featherstone. If you are organised, patient and encouraging, this work will suit you. Tell us which days you are free and how far you can travel.
