Supply Teacher Agency UK

Reliable supply teachers for primary, secondary and SEN settings, for day-to-day and long-term cover.

GAC Education is a specialist supply teacher agency working with UK primary and secondary schools that need cover they can trust. Whether you have a planned absence, a sudden gap or a long-term vacancy you need filling, our consultants match the right teacher to your school, your phase and your behaviour expectations.

Candidates go through our safeguarding and vetting process before we put them forward to a school. Our DBS & safeguarding page explains how it works. We know how much pressure unplanned absence puts on senior leaders. Our promise is simple: clarity, compliance and cover that actually turns up.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can GAC Education supply a teacher?

For day-to-day supply, call the desk that covers your area and we will tell you what we can arrange.

Are your supply teachers DBS checked and compliant?

Candidates go through our safeguarding and vetting process before we put them forward to a school. Our DBS & safeguarding page explains how it works.

What are typical supply teacher day rates in the UK?

Daily rates currently range from around £130 to £220 depending on phase, key stage, location and experience. We benchmark against AWR (Agency Worker Regulations) so long-term assignments match permanent equivalents from week 13.

Do you cover primary, secondary and SEN supply?

Yes. We supply primary class teachers, EYFS specialists, secondary subject specialists, SEN teachers, cover supervisors and teaching assistants across the North West and Yorkshire.

What areas of the UK do you supply teachers to?

We supply schools across West Yorkshire, Merseyside and Cheshire.

Can a supply teacher convert to a permanent role?

Yes. Many of our long-term supply assignments convert to permanent contracts. It's a low-risk way for schools to assess fit before committing, and we offer a fair temp-to-perm transition with no surprise fees.

What happens if a supply teacher doesn't work out?

Call your consultant. We'll review what happened, replace the candidate if needed and ensure the school isn't out of pocket. Quality and trust matter more to us than a single booking.

Do supply teachers need to plan lessons?

For short-term cover, schools typically pre-set work and the supply teacher delivers it. For long-term placements, supply teachers plan, mark and assess in line with your school's policies.
