Catch up and exam tuition for schools
Extra teaching for pupils who need to catch up or prepare for exams, from KS2 SATs to GCSEs and resits, paid for by your school.
Tuition your school pays for
If your school wants extra teaching for a pupil or a group, tell us who it is for, the subject and what you want to achieve. We will look for a tutor who suits the brief and agree the details with you.
Other tuition is funded differently. Looked after children tuition is planned with the Virtual School. For children out of school, the council usually gets in touch to find a tutor. SEND and EHCP funded tuition follows the child's plan or the school's SEN support. Your school may use more than one, so just tell us which funding applies.
KS2 SATs, GCSE and resits
We can help with tuition for KS2 SATs, GCSE courses and resits, and with catch up when a pupil or group has fallen behind. Let us know the exam and the subject, whether that is English, maths or something else, and we will look for a tutor who has passed our safer recruitment checks.
You set the goal, and the tutor works towards it with your pupils.
Catch up
Catch up tuition fills gaps in a subject, not just exam technique. A primary school might want help with reading or number before SATs. A secondary school might want a pupil to catch up in a GCSE subject after a long absence. Tell us the gap you would like the tutor to work on, and whether it is for one pupil or a small group you have chosen.
Safeguarding
Every tutor goes through our safer recruitment checks before they meet a pupil. That includes an enhanced DBS with a children's barred list check and references, in line with Keeping children safe in education 2026.
How to find a tutor
Email office@gac.education or use the contact form. Tell us the school, the year group, the subject, what you want to achieve, and whether it is for one pupil or a small group. We will come back to you with any questions and start looking for the right tutor.
