Become a tutor
Help children who need it most, from pupils in care to those catching up before exams. If you are a school or council looking for a tutor, visit the tuition hub.
Who you could be tutoring
We look for tutors to work with four groups of pupils: looked after children, children out of school, SEND and EHCP funded tuition, and catch up and exam tuition bought by schools. Whatever your subject, the work is about making a real difference to one child or a small group.
What we ask for
- An enhanced DBS for work with children
- References we can take up
- The subjects and key stages you can teach
Every tutor goes through our safer recruitment checks before they meet a pupil. That includes an enhanced DBS with a children's barred list check and references, in line with Keeping children safe in education 2026.
Tell us about your teaching experience and the age groups you have taught. When a request comes in, whether it is linked to a personal education plan, a child out of school, an EHCP or a school wanting catch up, we look at who is the best fit.
Subjects
At primary, tuition is often reading, writing and maths, including KS2 SATs. At secondary, it is often GCSE subjects and resits. Let us know what you teach and the key stages you have worked in, and we will get in touch when a request suits you.
