British curriculum teachers and school leaders for Dubai

Dubai has a large and competitive private school sector, and schools there are rightly choosy about who they hire. We help international schools in Dubai find UK trained teachers and school leaders who'll fit in, not just fill a gap.

Our team leads our Dubai work. Private schools in the emirate of Dubai are regulated by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). Abu Dhabi has its own regulator, so it has its own page.

We never charge candidates a fee.

British curriculum teachers in Dubai

Dubai's private schools teach a wide mix of curricula, so the first thing we'll ask is which one you follow. For British curriculum schools, which often teach IGCSE and A level as well as the English National Curriculum, we look for teachers with a PGCE or B.Ed with QTS, or an equivalent, and experience in UK classrooms.

A Year 2 teacher and an A level physics specialist are very different hires, even if they trained in the same place. Tell us the year group or subject, and anything about your timetable or setting we should know, and we'll look for people who genuinely fit.

Teachers can read what to expect in our Teach in the UAE guide. Everything else we do in the UAE, including university executive search, is on the UAE recruitment page.

School leaders in Dubai

Whether it's a head, a deputy, a head of phase or another senior post, we start by understanding your school. Is it primary, secondary or all through? How does the leadership team work? What do you need this person to change, or to protect?

Every school community in Dubai is different, so we'll ask about yours before we speak to anyone. If you need SEN and inclusion experience, including someone to lead inclusion, we'll build that into the search from the start.

KHDA and your hire

KHDA oversees private schools in Dubai and publishes inspection reports on them. Teachers also need KHDA approval for the specific school they're joining before they start.

Approvals sit between the school, the candidate and KHDA, and inspection outcomes are KHDA's to publish, so we'll always point you to them or the school rather than quote them ourselves. What we can do is make sure candidates know what's coming, so the paperwork doesn't take anyone by surprise.

How a Dubai search works

  1. Your school and the role.

Tell us about your school, the phase, and whether you need a teacher or a leader.

  2. Curriculum.

We confirm your curriculum. For British curriculum posts, we look for UK qualified teachers and leaders.

  3. Shortlist.

You meet candidates we've already spoken to properly, and we help set up interviews.

  4. Decision.

The choice is yours. The school, the candidate and KHDA then take care of approvals, visas and paperwork, and we stay in touch throughout.

How is Dubai different from Abu Dhabi?
