SEN Teaching Assistant for Resource Bases and Specialist Classes in Leeds
Leeds, West Yorkshire
Do you enjoy the steady, patient side of SEN work, where small wins build week by week? GAC Education is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants for resource bases and specialist classes in schools across Leeds and the surrounding area.
About the Role
Resource bases sit inside mainstream schools but run at their own pace. Groups are smaller, routines are tighter and every pupil has a plan built around them. You will support children with autism, speech and language needs or moderate learning difficulties, working one to one and in small groups. Some pupils spend part of the day in mainstream lessons, so you may go with them, help them settle and bring them back when they need a break. Because these are long term bookings, you get time to learn each pupil properly: what calms them, what motivates them and what a good day looks like. Work comes from across the city, from Seacroft and Crossgates in the east to Bramley and Pudsey in the west. Tell us how far you are happy to travel and we will keep it sensible.
