Science Teacher (Physics)

Are you a passionate Physics teacher who wants pupils to leave your classroom genuinely curious about how the world works? We are working with a high-performing secondary academy in Blackburn, Lancashire, looking for a permanent Science Teacher with a Physics specialism for a September start (earlier start available for the right candidate).
About the Role
You will teach Science across KS3, GCSE Combined Science / Triple Science, and A-Level Physics within a strong, well-resourced department. You will be supported by an experienced Head of Physics and have full access to a modern lab technician team.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
- Lead Physics teaching at GCSE and A-Level, with full curriculum support.
- Assess, mark and report on pupil progress in line with academy policy.
- Contribute to enrichment activities such as STEM clubs and trips.
- Maintain laboratory safety and follow CLEAPSS guidance at all times.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Physics or Science degree.
- Recent experience teaching Physics to GCSE; A-Level desirable.
- Strong subject knowledge and a creative, practical teaching style.
- High expectations and excellent classroom management.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
