One to One SEMH Behaviour Support Worker in Halifax

Halifax, West Yorkshire

Could you be the one adult a pupil knows will stay with them, even on the hard days? Schools across Halifax and Calderdale need Behaviour Support Workers for one to one SEMH support.

About the Role

Sometimes one pupil needs one person to help them stay safe and stay in school. This is demanding work, and it is also some of the most rewarding. You will support a single pupil with social, emotional and mental health needs, in a primary or secondary setting, following their behaviour support and risk plans. You will use agreed calm spaces and strategies to settle things before they escalate, and help the pupil take part in lessons for as much of the day as possible. You will work closely with the SENCO and pastoral team and record incidents and progress accurately. Bookings are long term so the pupil has a familiar adult.
