HLTA for Year 6 Groups and Class Cover in Wakefield
Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Can a Year 6 teacher hand you a group and trust you to teach it, not just supervise? Primary schools across Wakefield, Ossett, Horbury and Outwood are looking for HLTAs with exactly that confidence.
About the Role
Upper Key Stage 2 is a busy, high stakes stretch of primary school. You will teach planned English and maths sessions to small Year 6 groups, helping pupils prepare for end of key stage assessments. When teachers take PPA or are away, you will cover KS2 classes from their plans. Pupils with SEND in Years 5 and 6 may also need targeted support from you. You will feed back progress to class teachers and phase leaders so everyone knows where each child stands. Bookings are long term, giving you time to see results. Strong subject knowledge and calm whole class management are what schools value most.
