Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in Chester (Long-term Supply)

Chester primaries often need an HLTA who can own PPA cover and lead interventions for a half term or more. We match experienced senior TAs with Cheshire West schools that want continuity, not a revolving door of day cover.
About the Role
In this long-term HLTA supply role you will take greater ownership than a standard TA. Expect planned cover, small group literacy or maths boosts, and close work with phase leaders. You stay with one Chester setting for a meaningful block of time rather than bouncing between day bookings, with placements focused around Hoole, Upton and Vicars Cross.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver PPA and short term class cover under agreed school plans
- Lead targeted intervention groups for literacy, numeracy or phonics
- Model inclusive practice and support colleagues with classroom routines
- Contribute to planning meetings and pupil progress discussions
- Maintain professional records so cover and interventions hand over smoothly
Requirements
- HLTA status or equivalent senior TA experience with cover responsibility
- Strong classroom presence and behaviour management
- Enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List check (Update Service preferred)
- Able to commit to a long-term Chester booking across Hoole, Upton or Vicars Cross
- Right to work in the UK
