Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant in Halifax and Calderdale

Halifax, West Yorkshire

Do you know early child development well enough to spot when a child needs a bit more help? Schools across Halifax and Calderdale are asking for SEN Teaching Assistants for Reception and early years classes.

About the Role

Some needs only become clear once a child starts school. While assessments happen, the adult beside them makes a huge difference. You will support young children with speech and language delay, autism or other emerging needs through play, routine and lots of modelled language. Simple visuals and signing will be part of your toolkit, and you may help with toileting and personal care. Your observations matter too, because careful notes help the class teacher and SENCO understand what each child needs. Bookings are long term so young children have a consistent adult. Work covers Halifax, Sowerby Bridge, Elland, Brighouse and the wider Calderdale area.
