Behaviour Support Worker with Sport or Youth Work Background in Huddersfield
Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
Have you ever got through to a young person on a pitch or in a youth club when nobody else could? Schools across Huddersfield and the Colne Valley want Behaviour Support Workers who bring those skills into school.
About the Role
Some pupils who will not sit still in a classroom will listen to someone who has coached them. That is why sport and youth work experience transfers so well into behaviour support. You will mentor pupils with behaviour or attendance difficulties, use activities to build trust and teamwork, and support them in lessons and during unstructured times. Together you will set personal targets and review them regularly, sharing progress with pastoral staff. Bookings are long term in primary and secondary schools across Huddersfield, Golcar, Slaithwaite and the Colne Valley. Energy and reliability matter as much as experience, and so does knowing when to be firm.
