Cheshire West schools need Behaviour Support Workers who stay calm and help pupils rejoin learning. We focus on long-term placements around Chester so pastoral teams get consistency.

About the Role

In a long-term Behaviour Support Worker role you will mentor pupils, support reintegration after incidents, and work with pastoral teams on agreed strategies. Settings include mainstream and SEMH focused provision around Handbridge, Boughton and Blacon, with a consultant on our Merseyside desk who understands Cheshire West schools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs using agreed behaviour plans
  • De escalate situations and help pupils return to learning safely
  • Work with pastoral leads, SENCOs and teachers on consistent approaches
  • Keep accurate incident and support notes
  • Be a steady presence for pupils across Chester sites as the placement requires

Requirements

  • Proven behaviour support, pastoral or SEMH classroom experience
  • Patience, resilience and strong relational practice
  • Enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List check
  • Able to commit to a long-term placement in Chester
  • Right to work in the UK
