Behaviour Support Worker for Primary Nurture Groups in Hull
Hull, East Yorkshire
Can you see past a child's behaviour to the feeling underneath it? Primary schools across Hull, Hessle and Cottingham need Behaviour Support Workers for nurture groups and children with SEMH needs.
About the Role
Young children who struggle in class are often telling us something they cannot yet put into words. Nurture work gives them safety, routine and the chance to learn how to handle big feelings. You will work in small groups and one to one, planning calm starts, structured play and social skills activities. Approaches such as emotion coaching or zones of regulation may be part of the day. The aim is always to help children build friendships and spend more of the day back in their own class. You will record patterns in behaviour and share them with the SENCO. Bookings are long term, because trust is everything with this age group.
