Behaviour Support Worker for KS3 Inclusion Rooms in Bradford
Bradford, West Yorkshire
Do you believe an inclusion room should be a place to reset, not just a place pupils are sent? Bradford secondary schools want Behaviour Support Workers who can help Key Stage 3 pupils calm down, talk it through and get back to class.
About the Role
Done well, inclusion work gives a pupil a short pause and a clear way back. You will supervise pupils working out of lessons, hold restorative conversations after incidents and help them set small targets for returning to class. Some days you may respond to on call requests around the school site, supporting staff when a situation needs a calm extra adult. You will log behaviour carefully and share patterns with pastoral leads, because spotting a trend early can stop a pupil sliding towards exclusion. Bookings are long term across the Bradford district, so pupils learn that you are fair and consistent. Experience in youth work, pastoral roles or mentoring transfers well.
